Smart Shopper Review and Giveaway

One of the best ways to save money on groceries is to make a list of needed items, and stick to the list. But frequently when I am ready to go to the store, I forget to write down some of my needed items. I really needed something to record my items as I think of them or see that I need them.

I was excited that I got to review a smart shopper as seen on Rachael Ray. SmartShopper is a convenient way to keep track of your errands and groceries. You can add items to your shopping list by simply speaking into SmartShopper’s microphone. Using the easy-to-read LED display, you can edit list entries and customize your SmartShopper. As you enter items into your grocery shopping list organizer, they will be sorted based on categories such as “Fresh Produce”, “Dairy” or “Errands” so when you’re ready to hit the print button, SmartShopper will have already simplified your shopping trip for you.

I found it easy to use. I just put in the batteries, and it was ready to go. It had most things in the pre-loaded item list. I had to change the name on some things such as "Mountain Dew" to "soft drinks". But they included a master list of pre-loaded items, so it was easy.

I also like the feature of errands such as "bank", "car repair", "beauty shop", and "pay bills". I like to do my errands all in one trip if possible, and this will really help.

Kernal Seasons Review

We are trying to eat more healthy foods. Snack foods are some of the biggest challenges to healthy eating. Popcorn, a whole grain food that's low in calories, is a great snack food that's economical and also fun to eat. Popcorn is one of the best snack foods around. It's low in calories and high in fiber.

We had been eating microwave popcorn, but unfortunately it is loaded with fat. I recently found a great company called Kernel Season's. They sent me a very generous selection of their products for review. They sell a variety of popcorn products including a large variety of popcorn seasonings, popcorn, and popcorn spritzer. Time to Play Family Game Night

Did you have a favorite game when you were a child? Do your children have a favorite game? I like Monopoly and Yahtzee. Do you have a family game night with your children? I haven't done that routinely, but I think it is a good idea. It is a good way to connect with your children.

I frequently wash my hands at work, so they get very dry especially in the winter. With one application of Skin MD shielding lotion, my hands were soft and well moisturized. The moisture lasted even after washing my hands, and they were not greasy. I would highly recommend this product for anyone with dry skin.

Big Bang Mini Review

We were selected to review a new game for Nintendo DS called big Bang Mini produced by SouthPeak Games. My kids really love it.

In Big Bang Mini the objective is to destroy wave upon wave of enemies which in turn lights up the night sky with bursts of colorful fireworks. Dodge enemy fire and debris while collecting stars using the stylus.

There is a tutorial where you can learn the basics of the game. Arcade is the main mode in Big Bang Mini, and features over 90 levels across 9 different worlds. In Challenge Mode you have one life to begin with, the player has to stay alive long enough to complete the Challenge Mode and attain the highest score possible. In Verses two players can face off using just one game cartridge and you can choose between three arenas. You can pick your favorite song for your alarm clock.

My post is about cooking healthy meals. I recently purchased a book called Frozen Assets: Cook for a Day, Eat for a Month.
I am just getting started reading it, but I think it is a great idea. If I cook several healthy meals for my family and freeze them, then they will be available to be quickly heated and served. That would really help on those busy days and when I have to work. Also by cooking my own meals, I can be assured that there are not alot of added preservatives, so it will be alot healthier.
