Have you ever heard about Ebates? That site is great for online shopping! So far I have saved $529.35! The best way to describe it is a "portal". You go through that site, and you earn a percentage back on each purchase. For example right now they are offering 2% cash back on your purchase at office Depot and 6% at Lands End. I have received as much as 15% cash back, so the amounts vary. They send out the checks every 3 months.

Ebates is very easy to use. You just go to Ebates, then find the store you were going to shop at anyway. It is clearly marked what your % back would be. Click that site and shop as usual.

They have coupons on their site that you can use also. But if you don't find one there, search "company name, discount codes". I do most of my shopping online now because I save so much money!

Ebates is having a promotion now where you get $5 back for signing up and make one purchase. Free Money! Please, click here to sign up and enjoy the savings.

isABelt Giveaway

I was happy because I got to try an isABelt. It is truly a unique product. It is virtually invisible and fully adjustable to keep your outfit looking fantastic by keeping your pants in place. The isABelt is a 1/2 inch wide, strong, and flexible belt that virtually disappears when worn. No more back-gap or unwanted peep shows!

It is great for those of us trying to lose weight. As the weight comes off and your pants start getting loose, you can use the isABelt to extend the time you wear your pants as you are working to achieve your goal weight.

It is also great for travel because since it is not metal, you wont have to remove it before going through the scanner.

You can check it out here:

I am giving an isABelt to one lucky reader. To enter please go to isABelt and tell me the closest place you can purchase one and what size you need. If there is no place close, tell me where you can get it online.

Lets Get Ready Books Giveaway

Do you have a preschool child or one that will be starting first grade? I wanted to tell you about a great resource from Cedar Valley Publishing. I had the opportunity to review 2 books that I can certainly recommend.

Let's Get Ready for Kindergarten

Saying the letters
Body parts
And many more.

Let's Get Ready For First Grade
List of pre-first grade skills
Early adding and Subtracting

The books feature heavy duty laminated pages so you can use dry erase markers with them, and you don't have to worry about it ruining the pages. They appear very durable, so they could be used for multiple children.

Cedar Valley Publishing have very generously donated both the Let's Get Ready For Kindergarten and the Let's Get Ready For First Grade books to one of my lucky readers!

Remember to Laugh and Have Fun

All of us are busy with children, work, housework, and other commitments. I freqently forget to "stop and smell the roses" and enjoy life. Our lives are to be enjoyed and not just endured. If you are like me, we need to laugh more.
Lots To Learn, makers of the award-winning series of educational DVDs, has developed a fun and simple contest for those of us who blog. All I have to do to enter is to tell a joke, so here goes....

Who's there?
Orange who?
Orange you glad you came-a-knockin'?

Big Bang Mini

My children got a Nintendo DS this year for Christmas. They love it, and they already want more games. I have been looking for fun games rated E for Everyone. A new arcade-style game, Big Bang Mini, is to be released on January 20. I was chosen to review it. I haven't received it yet, but I wanted to tell you about it before it is sold out.

From the description "Players light up the night sky with dazzling bursts of fireworks to defeat whimsical enemies which threaten them from above." Also players have the opportunity to create their own fireworks displays. It can be played solo or or with another player on a separate Nintendo DS using just a single game cartridge.

The game has already received an excellent response from industry reviewers. It was awarded ‘Best Game Soundtrack’ at the prestigious video game festival, Prix du Festival du Jeu Vidéo in France, and was also nominated for ‘Best Portable Console Game’.

Big Bang Mini will be available at major retailers nationwide with a suggested retail price of $19.99. You can check it out by clicking here.

January 8, 2009

I have to say I love shopping on Amazon.com. I did most of my Christmas shopping there. They have most anything you are looking for. The trick is to know where to look for deals.

Gold Box Deal-Every day there is a list of items with extra discounts picked just for me.

Friday Sale-Every week they have extra discounts on a list of items. I try to go there every Friday.

Deals and Bargans-There is a list of current sales in various categories.

Free shipping-most things sold by Amazon directly have free shipping on a minimum $25 purchase. Be sure to make sure the item qualifies for free shipping. I never pay shipping.

Amazon.com Visa-You can get $30 back after your first purchase and earn up to 3% back. The money back comes as Amazon gift cards. I love this program because I shop there alot anyway, and the gift cards come in handy.

I joined the affiliate program since I usually go to Amazon.com daily anyway. If you want to check them out, click on the button on the right.

Goal of the Month

Bethany at vermillionrules posted about having a goal a month and following through. I think that is a great idea.

As I already posted I want to get more consistant with my Bible reading. I am working on reading it daily. A few years ago I read scripture daily, and it really strengthened my faith. But I got out of the habit. Why not try to come up with your goal of the month?

Busy Day

Today was another busy Saturday, but I got alot done.
1. went to work for a little while
2. shopped for groceries
3. took kids to the library
4. cut out coupons
5. went to Toys r Us
6. worked alot online
7. did some laundry
8. got gas
9. cooked
10. cleaned fridge
Unfortunately as I look around my house, it looks like I haven't done a thing! As Marie Curie said "One never notices what has been done; one can only see what remains to be done."

I have loved Tupperware since I was a child. I remember playing with it when we played house. Now that I am "all grown up", I still love it.
Honestly, I joined the Tupperware sales force to get the huge introduction packet at a significant discount. Also I can keep an eye on sales and special discounts.
With the current economic slowdown, it is important to have some food stored for emergencies. What would you do if the president declared a "bank holiday", and the banks were closed for several days? Would you have enough food for you and your family to live comfortably? Also usually it saves money to buy in bulk.
Tupperware is a great storage solution. One big problem with food storage is insects. My tupperware has done a great job protecting my food storage.
If you need any Tupperware, or you just want to see what they offer, please go to my Tupperware website. You can order directly from there, or you can email me to order.

I would like to try the Spicy Hot Chicken Wings. Thanks for the giveaway!

I will be sending the winners an email.

"How does anything really good get its start? Where do great products come from? Usually they are the result of much time being exerted and a tremendous amount of love being invested. At that point you can say, "That's mine! I made that." That's the way Country Bob Edson created his All Purpose Sauce.
In 1968 Country Bob perfected the sauce of his dreams. After years of giving the sauce to friends and family he began to sell it in 1977. The reaction was overwhelming just as it is today. Almost everyone who tries Country Bob's All Purpose Sauce becomes a lifelong user. And why not, it is the perfect complement to practically any meal set on your table.
It was actually October of 1982 when Country Bob, Inc. became the company, which remains today. Bob Edson, Terry Edson, Al Malekovic and Reed Malekovic formed a corporation with equal ownership. Since that time Country Bob's distribution has magnified regionally in all directions from our corporate office located in Centralia, Illinois. Even with the tremendous growth we have not forgotten where we came from, continuing in our relentless pursuit of product excellence.
Along with our All Purpose Sauce we have expanded our product line to include BBQ Sauce, Seasoning Salt and Spicy All Purpose Sauce. With our fully automated bottling line we also have the capability of producing Private Label products for stores or restaurants.
It would be nice if we could claim responsibility for the success of the company, however, credit must be given where credit is due. Proverbs 16:3 says, "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed." We have placed true ownership of Country Bob, Inc. in the hands of God. "Christ is our CEO" and He is an Awesome Boss!" from the Country Bob's website.

I really like Country Bob's sauce. A friend of mine said her family uses it on many things such as steak, eggs, and sandwiches. There are alot of great recipies on the Country Bob's Website. Today I tried a new one called "Chicken GREAAAT". I used canned chicken breast. It was the best BBQ chicken I ever had.

The great people at Country Bob's are giving away 2 bottles of the all purpose sauce to 2 different winners. To enter please visit Country Bob's and tell me a recipe you would like to try. Or if you have your own recipe, please tell me about it. Also, you get an extra entry for each of the following:

1. Follow me on twitter. I am donnak4.
2. Tweet about this contest. Please tell me your twitter name.
3. Subscribe to my blog.

Leave a comment for each entry with your email address. If you want to make it more secure spell out the words "at" and "dot". For example donna at yahoo dot com. Contest ends Thursday, January 8 at 12MN CST.

Happy New Year

I can't believe it is already 2009! I remember thinking I would be old in 2000. Now what does that make me? :)
With the new year comes a feeling of renewal and a fresh start. Have you made a New Year's resolution? I am wanting to lose some weight and be more consistant in my Bible reading. At davidjeremiah.org you can sign up for a daily email which also gives a link to read the Bible in a year. It looks really convenient.
I also want to post more. I have learned alot about blogging and online social communities such as twitter, but I still have alot to learn. If anyone has links to "How to" articles about those subjects, I would love to check them out.
May you have a great year.
