One of the top new shows for kids to premiere this past year is “Sid the Science Kid,” the hit, Emmy-nominated PBS series that is produced by The Jim Henson Company and KCET-LA. The first two “Sid the Science Kid” DVDs, titled “Change Happens” and “The Bug Club were available in stores on August 4.There is another new DVD called “Dive Olly Dive,” the Emmy-nominated, 3D-animated underwater series that airs on PBS Sprout. Not only will preschoolers have fun under the sea with Olly and Beth, two young submarines-in-training – the DVD also teaches kids fascinating facts about ocean life and some important life lessons, too. The “Dive Olly Dive: Ship Shape Sub” DVD became available in stores on August 4.
These are cute DVD's for younger kids.

ReplyDeleteSid is my 2 year old grandson's favorite show. I even bought him a Sid the Science Kid T-shirt. we get stopped all the time if he is wearing it when we go out. I swear we watch Sid 3 times a day. His 5 year old sister even decided that Sid is cool since he is also five. Sid the Science Kid has been great for both of them to watch.
I think it's fun for adults too. We tend to forget that children see things differently than we do. They have questions about every day things that we might not think about.
Since watching Olly we now have a ritual at bath time. Before he can get dried off ALL the bath toys have to "dive" while my grandson chants Dive Olly Dive!!! If I forget to limit the number of toys this can be a long process.
This would be great for my son.

They watch a lot of DVDs when they are together. When my niece comes over, she head straight to the DVDs to see if there is anything new. Thanks!
